Project 1: Final drawings for Submission

Parti:
plan: this parti diagrams embodies the idea of the Raumplan. It shows the central stair as the stem of the building which branches out into various rooms and interconnected spaces. The use of hatching which is overlayed in some parts symbolises the fact that Loos created different spaces that were defined by materials and ceiling heights which were at the same time visually and spacially connected. The differing line weights indicate the varying significance of rooms and their hierarchy around the central stair.

Section: the idea of clearly defined floors and levels is challenged by Loos as a result of the Raumplan. This parti indicates the different levels at different sections of the house.

Poche:
These Poche attempt to indicate the sensory experience of the Villa Muller. The walls have been left unhatched as the Raumplan is more about the spaces created by the walls rather than the walls themselves. A subtle use of green highlights the major element of the Villa, the central stair, which is what physically connects the spaces.
