OBAMA
Obama is currently in a position where he has just been elected into a government and is promising 'change'. His position of power thus means that the people in his democracy are depending on him to make beneficial changes in the US and the world. Obama is not only a president for many American people, he is a symbol of hope, a figure that will take America down a better road than that lead by George W Bush. AS a result the extrenal form reflects an idea of dependancy, two parts leaning against each other in support and if that support is lost, the structure will fail. One of the forms consists of multiple smaller stuctures to symbolise 'the poeple' and their faith in the new president.
Obama's Desk - wedges into the vertex, the point where the 2 structures meet. Little detail is used to make it appear like a very controlled environment, similar to Obama's type of power which is one of a controlled nature.
Obama's Lift - indicative of the rise and fall of past presidents. Hints that there is always shifts in powers leading you in different directions.
MADONNA
Madonna possesses power due to her celebrity status and influence. She makes the news for many reasons, but of late, it has been not due to her music. She attracts attention through her charity work and her life as a mother. However, she also gains attention in less positive areas such as her demanding character which creates scandals, her divorces and various other instances that suggests that Madonna may not be all she appears. It is this concept that inspired the external form. A protective, free flowing shell that symbolises Madonna's 'good' identity which surrounds an inner structure which is jagged and contorted suggestive of Madonna's darker side.
interior -dark lighting is used as well as images of Madonna that go against her humanitarian 'mother'like image. Sharp sticks tear through the floor and walls which are reminiscent of the people she's affected and how she uses her fame to gain power and force.
Madonna Lift - continues the concept above where at face value she appears one way, but a deeper look beyond the surface suggests otherwise.
MEETING SPACE
Embodies the idea of power as a force. In this case, as two vastly different concepts of power between Madonna and Obama exist, this space represents a clash between these forces, or perhaps a fight for power no matter what form it may come in.
TABLE
Continues the idea of a power clash. When these two people meet in this space, two very different types of power will be present at this table.
