My Developed Model

DESCRIPTION
ABOVE - Two curved surfaces have been overlaped in order to symbolise the fact that controversy arises when 2 (or more) conflicting opinions/values etc come into contact with eachother. Below these surfaces a warped structure exists that is made from different materials to symbolise the fight and conflict that results from controversy.
BELOW- This structure is composed with 2 parts. The main section has been formed and distorted in order to create the feeling that the space, both inside and out, is not smooth. I have added another structure that is completely disconnected from the main section which ultimately highlights the idea of disconnectedness. This part is only partly below ground and can be entered at ground level thus highlighting this idea of 'disjointed'.
FINAL MATERIAL SELECTION

ABOVE - controversial (Hall)
glass
timber
concrete
These materials are bought together to symbolise the idea of "controversial". It represents that within controversy, many ideas and opinions are involved. When these ideas come into contact with eachother, conflict and difference aka controversy is the result.
BELOW - disjointed (Gascoigne)
main section
glass
2 types of concrete
disconnected section
- concrete
- timber
A selection of materials have been used in order to symbolise the literal meaning of 'disjointed' (ie being not connected). By having multiple materials it distubs the visual flow of the piece.
